Shipping Policy

Last updated: December 1, 2025

Thank you for supporting Haida Visions and the artwork of Everett Athorp. Our shop includes both print-on-demand merchandise fulfilled through third-party partners and original handcrafted fine art that is packed and shipped directly from the artist. Because these items are fulfilled in different ways, shipping details vary by product type.

This policy outlines how shipping works across all Haida Visions product categories.

1. Print-on-Demand Merchandise (Clothing, Prints, Accessories)

Print-on-demand merchandise is produced and fulfilled by our third-party fulfillment partner, Printful, and follows Printful’s standard production, packaging, shipping, and delivery timelines.

Processing Times

  • Most items are made to order and require 2–7 business days for production before shipping.

  • Production times may extend during peak seasons or global supply chain delays.

Shipping Methods & Delivery Times

Shipping time begins after production is complete. Estimated timelines are typically:

  • USA: 3–8 business days

  • Canada: 5–10 business days

  • International: 7–20 business days, depending on region
Exact delivery times depend on the carrier, customs, and destination.

Tracking

All Printful-fulfilled orders include tracking whenever available. Tracking information is emailed automatically when your order ships.

Multiple Shipments

Because merchandise is produced at different fulfillment centers, orders containing multiple items may arrive in separate shipments at no extra cost.

Shipping Costs

Shipping fees for POD items are calculated at checkout based on the product type, fulfillment location, and delivery destination.

Duties, Taxes & Customs

International customers are responsible for any customs duties, VAT, import taxes, or brokerage fees assessed by their country.

Lost Packages

If a POD item does not arrive, please notify us within 30 days of the estimated delivery date so we can file a claim with Printful. Printful may require confirmation of the shipping address before approving a reshipment or refund.

2. Fine Art Originals (Paddles, Panels, Bentwood Boxes, Carvings)

Original artwork created by Everett Athorp is handled completely separately from our print-on-demand merchandise. Because each piece is handcrafted, often large or delicate, and irreplaceable, we use specialized packing and shipping procedures consistent with professional fine art handling standards.

2.1 Packaging Standards

Every artwork is packed by the artist using durable, protective materials appropriate for the piece’s size, shape, and surface.

Packaging may include:

  • Multiple layers of high-grade bubble wrap

  • Protective foam, packing peanuts, and void-fill materials

  • Wrapped corners and edge-guards

  • Cardboard, plywood, or hybrid cardboard-and-wood packaging

  • Internal bracing or blocking to prevent movement

  • Vapor-barrier layers (for wood items in humid transit routes)

Where possible, we reuse or recycle shipping materials to reduce environmental impact. Recycled materials used are clean, intact, and suitable for protecting fine art.

For exceptionally large or fragile works, we may construct custom crates following industry standards used by museums, galleries, and art shippers.

2.2 Oversized, Specialty, and Remote-Origin Shipments

Many original pieces ship from Klawock, Alaska. For oversized items—including long paddles, large panels, framed works, or bentwood boxes—we will communicate directly with the client to determine the optimal shipping method.

This may include services such as:

  • USPS or UPS ground/freight

  • Alaska Marine Lines

  • Lynden Transport

  • Specialized art logistics carriers (depending on availability from Alaska)

  • Air cargo options

  • Hybrid transport (e.g., ferry + freight handoff)

Shipping arrangements for oversized artwork are based on mutual agreement between Haida Visions / Everett Athorp and the client. We will provide carrier options, estimated timelines, and pricing before shipment.

2.3 Insurance

All original artwork is shipped with full-value insurance covering loss or damage in transit.

  • Insurance fees are added to the final shipping total.

  • Insurance covers the artwork only—not delays caused by carriers or customs.

  • Claims require photographs of the packaging and item upon arrival.

2.4 Handling Fees

A handling fee may be added for:

  • Custom-built crates

  • Extensive packaging required for fragile surfaces or large dimensions

  • Specialty freight arrangements

  • Additional labor needed for oversized or irregularly shaped pieces

Any handling fee will be discussed and agreed upon during the commission or purchase process.

2.5 Delivery Signatures

For high-value artwork, a signature may be required upon delivery to ensure secure receipt.

3. Local Pickup (If Offered)

For clients located on Prince of Wales Island (Alaska) or in the Pacific Northwest, local pickup or coordinated hand-delivery may be available for original artwork.

This must be arranged in advance and confirmed by both the artist and buyer.

4. General Shipping Conditions (Both POD & Fine Art)

Incorrect Addresses

Orders returned due to incorrect or incomplete addresses may incur reshipping charges. We are not responsible for delays or losses caused by address errors.

Delays

We cannot control delays caused by:

  • Shipping carriers

  • Weather

  • Customs

  • Remote-region transit schedules

  • Global supply chain disruptions

International Shipments

Customs inspections may cause delays. Buyers are responsible for duties, VAT, and import fees.

5. Damaged Shipments

Please inspect your package immediately upon delivery.

If any damage is present:

  1. Photograph all sides of the external packaging before opening.

  2. Photograph the internal packaging and the damaged item.

  3. Contact us within 48 hours at [Your Email] with the photos and order details.

Because insurance and claim requirements differ between Printful, USPS, UPS, and freight carriers, timely documentation is essential.

6. Questions

If you have any questions about shipping POD merchandise or original artwork, or need a custom shipping quote for a commission, please use the Contact Us page or call us at 907-401-1688.
